Aspen Dental is losing Fort Worth to Brident.

Same city, same search. Brident’s page answers all five things a patient asks. Aspen’s answers none. Here is what that looks like, checked in a real browser.

Watch the walkthrough, or open it on YouTube.

Type dentist in fort worth and two very different pages come back. Brident shows up as an office: 4511 Western Center Blvd, open today 9 to 6, (817) 918-3343. Aspen Dental shows up as a sentence: “A full-service dental provider…” and an 800 number.

That one difference decides who gets the call. We loaded both pages in a real browser, then did the same across Aspen’s Texas city pages, to see exactly what a patient, Google and the AI assistants each get to read.

Search for dentist in fort worth: Brident shows an address, hours and a local number; Aspen Dental shows a generic description and an 800 number
Same city, same search. One result is an office, the other is a brochure line.

Aspen’s page answers 0 of 5 questions. Brident’s answers 5 of 5.

A patient deciding where to book wants five things from the page they land on. Google and the AI assistants look for exactly the same five.

Aspen Dental Fort Worth city page

0/5

  • A dentist, by name
  • A street address
  • Today’s hours
  • A number that rings there
  • One reason to choose it

Brident Fort Worth office page

5/5

  • A dentist, by name
  • A street address
  • Today’s hours
  • A number that rings there
  • One reason to choose it

A page that answers the patient gets found. A page that answers nobody gets skipped by both.

A brochure versus a front desk

Aspen’s Fort Worth page is one paragraph. This is it, in full:

“Aspen Dental is a full-service dental provider offering a wide range of services, including clear aligners, dentures, dental implants, emergency dental care, checkups and other general dental services…”

No dentist, no street, no hours, and a call-centre number. Brident’s page reads like its front desk: the office by name, the street, today’s hours, and a number that rings in Fort Worth.

Side by side: Aspen Dental's template city page next to Brident's office page with address, hours and phone
Aspen’s page is a brochure. Brident’s is a front desk.

Size didn’t decide this. Brident is a 96-location Texas chain; Aspen Dental has over 1,000 offices. Writing the page did.

It isn’t just Fort Worth

We pulled every Texas city page from Aspen Dental’s own sitemap and loaded each one. Every one is the same template, with the city name swapped in.

71Texas city pages, all the same paragraph

Aspen Dental uses one paragraph for all 71 of its Texas city pages

Office by office: 9 pages against 1

Brident has nine Fort Worth offices and gives each its own page, with hours, a photo and an (817) number:

  • 4511 Western Center Blvd
  • 4200 South Freeway
  • 815 East Berry St
  • 225 NE 28th St
  • 6000 Camp Bowie Blvd
  • 3411 Sycamore School Rd
  • 4229 East Lancaster Ave
  • 6729 Bridge St
  • 9021 Tehama Ridge Pkwy

Aspen Dental has two Fort Worth offices, at 1129 Green Oaks Rd and 5009 South Hulen St. Both exist. Neither is named on the city page, which shows a paragraph and an 800 number.

Brident's nine Fort Worth office pages compared with Aspen Dental's single city page that names neither of its two offices
Brident: 9 Fort Worth pages. Aspen: 1 page that names no office.

The strange part: Aspen already built the good pages

Behind every template city page, Aspen Dental has real office pages with the dentist, the street, the hours and a local number. 17,488 of them. The city page in front, which is the only door a city search opens, doesn’t link to a single one.

Aspen Dental's 17,488 detailed office pages are hidden behind template city pages
The work is done. It just can’t be reached from the search that matters.

The scorecard: Aspen has six gaps, Brident has one

If you run a clinic, this is the list worth keeping.

GapAspenBrident
Every city page says the same thingOne paragraph, 71 Texas cities. Swap the name, nothing changes.
A call-centre number, not the officeOne national 800 line on every city page.
The best pages are hidden behind the worst17,488 excellent office pages, unreachable from a city search.
No machine-readable label on city pagesThe hidden tag that tells Google “this is a dentist, here.”
No note for the AI assistantsThe one-page summary ChatGPT and Gemini look for first.
Six headlines on the homepageSix things compete to be the point. Google picks one.

Even the winner has a gap. Neither chain publishes the short summary file that ChatGPT and Gemini look for first.

Your clinic probably has these gaps too

A thousand-office chain missed them. Most clinics do. The free version of this teardown works the same way for your practice:

  • We search as a patient would. Your city and your services, on Google and on the AI assistants.
  • We put you next to the clinic down the road. Same search, side by side.
  • You get the gaps in plain sentences. One line each, no jargon.
