# 1,601 clinics. No service in the data.

Can AI find the right hearing clinic? Miracle-Ear tells a machine where it is. HearingLife tells it what happens there.

A patient types where can i get a hearing test near me. Two national hearing care chains want that visit: Miracle-Ear, with 1,601 clinic pages, and HearingLife, with 641.

Read the way an AI assistant reads them, Miracle-Ear tells a machine where a clinic is. HearingLife tells it what happens there: a hearing test, how long it takes, and a link to book it.

The other says what happens there.

Five questions: HearingLife answers four, Miracle-Ear answers two

We scored the page a patient actually lands on, read before JavaScript runs.

Method: 30 clinic pages sampled at random from each brand on 9 October 2026, scored on the raw page before JavaScript runs. Both sites answer a browser and Googlebot the same way.

Credit to both: the clinic itself is done right

Every page we sampled on either brand carries the address, opening hours, phone number, map coordinates and a star rating a machine can quote. Both also name the specialists who do the work, with job titles. HearingLife goes further, listing credentials such as Doctor of Audiology and state licence numbers.

60 / 60clinic pages across both brands with a listing, hours, phone and coordinates

Where they separate: the test, and the way to book it

HearingLife joins the three things a patient needs: the service, the clinic that performs it, and the way to book it. A machine can follow that chain without reading a sentence.

A HearingLife clinic page · the listing

"@type": "MedicalClinic", "availableService": [
{ "@type": "MedicalProcedure", "name": "Hearing Test - For New Patients",

The test, the length and the booking link, all in the data.

Miracle-Ear says “hearing test” everywhere, except in the data

All 30 Miracle-Ear pages talk about hearing tests, hearing aids and booking in the words a reader sees. The listing underneath carries the address, hours, rating and staff, and stops there.

30 / 30pages saying “hearing test” in the words a reader sees

The question neither one answers: insurance

Every page on both brands uses the word insurance. Not one names a carrier or a plan in the page a machine reads, and none has a marked-up FAQ. An assistant asked “does this clinic take my insurance?” can only send the patient to a phone call.

0 / 60pages naming an insurance carrier, on either brand

60 / 60pages asking you to book, on either brand

Neither answers the question that decides it.

Behind the scenes, Miracle-Ear has the better plumbing

Miracle-Ear points crawlers at five sitemaps, and every one of its 1,601 clinic pages carries the date it last changed. HearingLife, with the better page data, has a sitemap its own robots file never mentions, and none of its URLs carries a date.

1,601Miracle-Ear clinic pages, every one dated this year

641HearingLife clinic pages, none carrying a date

Each brand built the half the other skipped.

HearingLife also wrote down the questions it expects

Its llms.txt, the note it writes for AI engines, runs to 14 KB and ends with a section called “Questions HearingLife Content Can Help Answer”. Miracle-Ear has no such file at all.

hearinglife.com/llms.txt · section headings

## Topics Covered · ## Core Pages · ## Hearing Loss
## Hearing Aid Guides · ## Pricing & Financing · ## Clinic Directory
## Questions HearingLife Content Can Help Answer

miracle-ear.com/llms.txt → 404

A file like this is half a day of writing, and almost nobody does it.

The cheapest fix on this list.

The scorecard: seven to five, and two that neither passes

Eleven checks, the same method, both brands.

Why this matters to a clinic

Listing the information is not the same as connecting it. Both brands publish everything a patient needs; only one joins the test to the clinic to the appointment in a form a machine can follow.

That join is the whole job: name the service, attach it to your location, give an assistant a booking link it can hand over, and say which insurance plans you take.

We search for your clinic the way a patient would. Your city and your competitors, on Google and on the AI assistants.

You get the gaps in plain sentences. One list you can hand to whoever runs your website.

It takes a day. No commitment, no cost.
